About me
I'm Teri. I am 52 years old, and I've been overweight most of my adult life. My diet and exercise program have me feeling better than I have ever felt before. I have lost close to 100 pounds since I began the Carbohydrate Addict's Lifespan Program in 2008, without starving or depriving myself in any way.
I am getting myself into better shape and my goal of becoming fit and healthy is getting closer every day. This will be my lifelong way of eating because I am happy to say that it comes natural to me!

New Pictures
Thank you. You saw them before I did because my husband posted them last night while I was sleeping.
It had been quite awhile since I had a recent photo and I was dressed to leave the house so I asked my husband to take a few pictures of me. It is funny because when he took the pictures at home I was fine, but when he began snapping photos in the parking lot I was embarrassed. Of course, now that I see them, I am happy that he took them because I like them better.
I have been keeping up with your journey by email and I would like to congratulate you on your progress as well. We all have to start somewhere and your re-dedication seems to be working for you.
Wishing you continued success on your journey to become a healthier, happier, you.
With all my support,
Teri
Congrats!!
Way to go on these great photos!!!! What an inspiration you are!!!
Support is Wonderful!
Thank you Allie.
I have been keeping up with you too. I know that you are a determined woman and I can tell that you will succeed.
I believe that keeping my meals balanced is what has been helping me the most in this way of eating. My carbohydrates are balanced with my vegetables and protein and I know that I will be tipping the scales if I overeat any one of them. I have had days where I ate more of an item than I should have, but I never got carried away.
In the three years that I have been involved with the forums, I noticed that the majority are CAD followers. I saw some people that used their Reward Meals as an all you can eat carbohydrate feast and some of those people limited themselves to eating once a day. It worked for them but it was not a lifestyle that I wanted to follow. I wanted to be able to eat whenever I was hungry, lose weight, and still be able to include the foods that I could not live without. I love meat and limiting myself to that and some vegetables is a perfect meal for me. Limiting my carbohydrates to once a day with my protein and vegetables feels like freedom and total satisfaction.
I accept that I can not eat carbohydrates like others can without becoming hungry, and losing control. I have seen this behavior in my past and now that I understand how to avoid it, I will never allow myself to be controlled by carbohydrates ever again.
My journey to getting myself fit, healthy, and thin is far from over. According to the BMI chart I am still fat, but I am within ten pounds of the normal range and I will get there no matter how long it takes.
Thank you for taking this journey with me and I will be here to support you as well.
Thanks!
Thanks Teri! I can see by your words (and those great photos) that you have made a total lifestyle change. I am not there yet, but that is what I'm hoping to achieve. One day at a time! (I guess one meal at a time is more like it!)
I really enjoy your site here. I look forward to seeing what delicious meals you had!
Today I had beef jerky for breakfast because I have a 2-hour work call and not much time to plan breakfast, but we'll see if that was enough to hold me over. On my best days I have veggies with my protein for breakfast.
