I have done both! I made

I have done both!

I made the choice to take small steps this time around. I needed to make some positive changes in my life and I knew that I could follow CALP since I had done it ten years before.

I was three months shy of my forty ninth birthday when I made the decision to begin my new way of eating. Two weeks into my program, I discovered that it was very easy for me to follow and I introduced the first option of GTF Chromium as a daily supplement.

Since I began following CALP because I wanted to get myself into better shape, I was ready to add my next option of exercise into my program two weeks later. I ended up catching the flu so I had to get myself better before I could resume my eating program. As soon as I was ready to begin eating solid food, I went right back to following CALP again. It took me four more days until I felt well enough to begin an exercise program and I have been exercising ever since.

I have come a long way since I made the decision to become fit and healthy twenty months ago. I still have several pounds to lose, but I will continue to follow my eating and exercise programs so I can allow the weight to take care of itself!

When I first started, I made

When I first started, I made big steps, cutting out sugar/honey/HFCS/artificial sweeteners, refined foods, prepared foods, and such. I followed that for several years, which worked well.

The next steps were refinements of that, cutting out all wheat/spelt, and related grains, not just the refined ones. That helped, too. I left the WOE at this for a couple more years.

Next category of steps was a bit bigger, leaving out all the remaining grains, as well as legumes and seeds/seed oils, and high PUFA nuts, greatly reducing the amount of fruit, and only eating low-starch veggies.

After that, smaller steps, lowering the amount of plant food, increasing meat intake, dropping the pork as it didn't sit well. Leaving out egg whites as they seemed to cause allergy reactions.

My current WOE is calm, regenerative, and allows me to maintain a slender figure and feel better than ever.

Thanks very much for the thread topic. It is interesting to read of what works well for others.
