Why is it that a full meal (protein, fat, veggies -in ample quantities) can still leave a person feeling unsatisfied?

Have you ever felt like there's a small empty pocket in your stomach after eating a meal?

Unsatisfied

That is exactly how I used to feel!

Before I began following CALP, I would eat a full meal that always included protein, carbohydrates, and vegetables. At times I would wonder how I could eat all that food and still want more.

I always began with a full plate and most of the time I went back for seconds. Immediately after a meal, I would be ready for dessert but I usually waited a couple of hours, thinking it was the right thing to do. My desserts were always hearty and a good example would be a large bowl of ice cream or full row of cookies. I always wanted more and when I was completely out of control, I would have a second bowl of ice cream or begin on the second row of cookies.

I have found that following CALP has my insulin under control and I no longer crave every bit of food I see. I eat when I am hungry, which is usually twice a day. My family members can eat in front of me and it does not bother me at all. I have found that following this way of eating allows me complete control over my food choices.

It is so nice to find a way to eat that actually helps me to remain satisfied after eating a meal. It is now possible for me to eat much less food than I used to and not be looking for more. I have come a long way and I give all the credit to the way I am eating now!

No carbs in your meal?

Your description sounds like an Atkins-style meal (no carbs..?)

Teri had a similar problem when she tried those kinds of diets.
