Results of My Tenth Month on CALP

LowCarbForLife's picture

January 3rd was weigh in and measurement day. I was really curious to see how the holidays affected my weight loss efforts and was anxious to get my results for the month.

I continued to stay focussed on my eating plan and kept up with my exercise schedule as well. I still experience some pain in my leg from my surgery, but have not allowed it to interfere with my exercise routine at all.

I was only averaging once a week on my Bowflex machine because I was away from home on the days it was scheduled. I completed my 10 Minute Solutions on the days I was away, but it was not the same. I noticed whenever I would get started on my Bowflex workout, I was working extremely hard in order to get it done. I had worked myself up to the weights I was using, and knew that I would have to get back to my three times a week schedule, in order to keep up my strength.

The holidays were not that difficult for me to stay on plan since I don't feel like I am on a diet. CALP is the only way I know how to control my sweet tooth and food cravings. I eat when I am hungry and my food choices are exactly what I want to eat on a given day.

Every year I bake cookies and make candy for my family and neighbors. This year was no different, and I had complete control since I knew I could only include my goodies with my RM. I trusted my family to tell me how everything tasted, and put the beaters and bowls in the sink without tasting them. I discovered I still have a problem with portion control because the chocolate chip cookies that I was enjoying with my RM were getting more and more difficult to stop eating. My cookies were really small and the most I ate at a time were four, but I really wanted to stop at three.

My entire family continue to be very supportive to me in my efforts. My middle daughter asked me to go to her work so she could show me off to her co-workers. My husband can't keep his hands off of me and is constantly telling me how beautiful I am. My mom, grandma, and even my dad, tell me how well I am doing and how much better I look. When I look at myself in the mirror, I can still see I have a ways to go. I can see the progress I am making and feel as if I look better than I actually do. I am only 5'3” tall, and I know I am only halfway to my first goal of 140 pounds.
