Day Off!

I had part of my day already planned before I even woke up. My oldest daughter and I were going to the auction to purchase some sheep to put on my irrigated pasture. I had a nice flock but my kids did not want to continue shearing them so I had to get rid of them. We went to the auction to purchase some lambs so I could feed them and resale them later.

I ended up buying some hair sheep that do not require shearing and bought a ram and six ewes to begin another breeding program. I also bought a young wool lamb to resale with the three that I left on my pasture the day before.

The sheep were not going to be sold until afternoon so I made myself lunch before I left home. I was trying to decide whether to eat pork chops or a salad and decided to make myself a salad since I knew I was going to have ribs for dinner. I really enjoy my salads and they always seem to hold me over for hours.

My daughter enjoyed the auction and when the sheep were finished selling, we stayed to watch the cattle being sold. I think she wanted to buy a calf and if there would have been one available I am sure she would have bought it. The sale ended at 5 p.m., and we still needed to load the sheep and take them to the ranch to unload them.

When we arrived at the ranch, we unloaded the sheep and herded them towards the grass so they could begin grazing. My daughter and I unhooked the trailer and left it at the ranch because I don't need it at home since we already have a horse trailer and should not need the stock trailer there too.

My husband had dinner ready for me when I arrived home. He had slow cooked some ribs on the bbq so I made myself a salad. I began my dinner with my salad and my husband warmed up the leftover broccoli adding a touch of butter to it. I had a very nice meal and finished it up with some Hershey's chocolate.

I had an exhausting day and since I knew I could postpone my bowflex workout for the following day, I took advantage. It is really easy for me to make my day off on Saturday instead of Sunday because I have no doubt that I will get it done.
